a short share/reminder

Let me start with an incident that occurred to me recently..

As always, it was a humid day in this loving home country, my colleagues and i was riding a car to get some reimbursement for our energy during lunch break.

The chatter that goes in the car was as usual, updating about their children to one another. Yet, until one point, it found a route into a direction talking about their parents and grandparents. Which is then leads to something that never fail to remind us, in one way or another, that our life in this world is just temporary.

Yes, it was about Death.

Its fearsome to some people when the death incidence is brought up..

One of my colleagues told us that her mother inform her that when she went to a talk by an Ustaz for the evening reminder, the ustaz started his talk by asking one abrupt question.

Has anyone prepare their ‘kain batik lepas’..?

At first I wondered to myself, what is this so called ‘kain batik lepas’..?

After several minutes of chatter, i came to know that the ‘kain batik lepas’ is what used among the malay here to cover the person who just turn over as a corpse.

I bring this up not to focus and discuss about the ‘kain batik’..

But on how the ustaz talk, bring me to think it as he is asking us..

Have we prepare for our death..?

If getting ready all the important ‘equipment’ when we will be die later is suggested, preparing to face the death itself is far more essential..

Are we prepare to face the angel of death..?

What bout the torment in the grave..?

And not to mention bout the tremendous day when resurrection occur..

Have we prepare ourselves to face it ..?

Something for us to together look back and ponder upon..
