We are here not to be the diamond in the rough like in the story of aladdin..but, let us be diamondiferous muslims.. yup, a muslim which has diamond embedded in it..
Why diamond?
Aha~ let us all look at the properties of diamond.. (All Praise to Allah for providing me the oppotunity to learn materials in my course.. ^_^)

Hard-hardest known material indeed!!
Low electrical conductivity
From the crystal structure and strong inter-atomic covalent bonds.
High thermal conductivity for non metallic material
Optically transparent in the visible
Infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum

First, need not i say, diamond main 'ingredients' is actually Carbons..
Amazing isn't it how Allah create beautiful diamonds from Carbon. Often when we talk about carbon, the things that would pop up in our mind is surely the 'blacky stuff' from charcoal food, the pencil leads.. Rarely would one think of a diamond.. suprising isn't it.. Who knows, one day while ur writing ur exam scripts, ur pencil lead suddenly decided to transform into a diamond..wow!! Hey, be grateful of what we have yea..
Back to the main point..
How is it diamond is related to being a muslim?
First, i hope all of us by now realise that we are made from the dust or in other term, soil (if u like)..
"And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay"
"Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah menciptakan manusia dari suatu saripati (berasal) dari tanah"(al-mukminun:12)
Well, whoever learn science in schools would surely be aware that one of the composition of the soil is carbon.
Now, can u guess the relation here?
Yes, thats right.. Our body has carbon in it.. one would then ask, 'is it possible that diamond would grow inside me..?' (with gleaming, hopeful eyes).
No need to wait for the diamond to grow, be a diamond now and prompt to.
#hardest known material-
Be a tough muslim. not easily broken by the poundings, hammering from those around us. Enemy from within.
Be strong for the ongoing test that will always be a counterpart of our life in this world. Remember Allah All Mighty said
“Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, We believe, and will not be tested with affliction? '
'Apakah manusia itu mengira bahwa mereka dibiarkan (saja) mengatakan: "Kami telah beriman", sedang mereka tidak diuji lagi?' (al-ankaboot29:2)

This should be perceived as low profile muslim.. zuhud..

Sure, He has the right to take away His Loans from us when He thinks we do not deserve it anymore.. So spent all in the cause of Allah.. and don't be arrogant for the qualities that we may have that others don't.
#strong inter-atomic covalent bond-
As muslism, we develop a family-ties with one another. Different parents, blood-ties doesn't matter. As long as one satisfies and admits the One God, Allah..Welcome to the family..Ukhwahfillah...
"Truly Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in ranks, as if they were a solid cemented structure"
Sesungguhnya Allah menyukai orang yang berperang dijalan-Nya dalam barisan yang teratur seakan-akan mereka seperti suatu bangunan yang tersusun kokoh. (as-Saff 61:4)
Build a strong, love relation with our brothers and sisters in islam. Let us put hand in hand (literally-not practical especially if between muslim and muslimah =D) to overcome the issues and help those in need. We need khilafah-lets us strive hard to get it.
Fight in His way doesn't mean we need to go and have war. it generally means, try to fight ur inner self conflict that ask u to do things not following the islamic law..
#High thermal conductivity-
Did u realise, no matter who we are, in which gender side we're in. We are born to lead?
Yes, thats right. Be a doctor, a student, a husband, a wife, a brother, a sister.. all need to lead..
So, to be highly thermal conductivity simply means, be a person who can influence others in our way..but WAIT..not for our sake.. for the cause of Allah.. Help our ummah to realise the true way to Allah. Bring them back from the clouds that shade the light from showing the true path. And spread effectively the true teaching of the beloved prophet (peace bee upon him) as guided by The All Mighty, All Knowing..
#Optically transparent in the visible-
Yes we are here. Visible to the eyes of the people of the universe. In fact, they usually look down on us..
Know, for the being, show them the true way of islam..
Be visible to them, yet, not to0 apparent in a way that they'll say we are faking it just to save our neck..
Be transparent to them, to let them see our true, purify hearts..
Results of our beliefs in Allah, for following the guidance He gave in the Quran al-Karim
#Infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum-
This is quite tricky, but not impossible.
islam once conquered 2/3 of the world.. Giving the humanity the true meaning of living in this world. Peace, Love, Hope were not at lost.
How bout now? Where is islam in the map?..
Do not follow the ways of Jahilliyah as it will just place us now in the same spectrum as the non-believers. Follow the islamic teaching rightly. Do not waste time seeing uneducational movies, loitering, wasting money on shopping...etc..
Remember the hadith from the prophet (saw)
"the beauty of a man's islam, is that he leaves alone things which are no concern of his"-imam nawawi
#High index refraction-
Last but not least, to be a diamondiferous muslim, we need to be able to refract unlawful things that is being given to us. Know which is islam which is not. Which is the whisper of shaitan, which is just the pressure of the nafs.. Refract it all from our self.
So, what are we waiting for?
No need for us to wait for the diamond shop to open. Be a diamond!!
